Winter Safety
With the recent snow storms, we remind homeowners to be aware of some safety issues the snow may cause.
- Please check the exterior venting of your gas fired appliances. The newer high-efficiency models are usually vented out the side of the house or the roof using PVC pipe. If these pipes become blocked by snow, it can cause the equipment to malfunction or create a carbon monoxide hazard.
- If you live near a fire hydrant, please take the time to clear out the snow from around the hydrant.
- Please check your gas meter to be sure it is not covered with snow or ice. There are vents on the meter that need to be kept clear.
